Provide family members with a place to rest and recharge, just steps away from where their sick child is being treated.

Family Room programs

We currently operate two Family Rooms at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital in Soweto which were opened on the 28th of November 2013. Each of our Family Rooms is unique and tailored to the needs of the families in NICU and Ward 66. They are staffed by a dedicated, compassionate team.

The Family Rooms cater for mothers of children in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and a neonatal ward 66 at the hospital.

Mothers are provided with beverages, snacks, and nonclinical programs. They can watch tv, read books and magazines and interact and receive support from each other and RMHC staff and volunteers.

Current Facilities

Our two rooms provide a place to rest and recharge in the hospital.
