“My child was admitted to ICU in July, and that is when I first heard about the RMHC Family Room. I came to register, and it has been such a blessing for me. At first, I didn’t know how I was going to cope because I was staying at the hospital lodge and worried about food and the costs of being here.
The Family Room came to my rescue. I appreciate the meals so much — we get four meals a day: light porridge at 08:00, breakfast at 10:00, lunch at 13:00, and supper in the afternoon. Before, the food portions were small, but recently RMHC has added more meals and increased the portions. The teacups are now bigger, we receive three slices of bread instead of two, and the lunch fills us up. This is important because we need the strength while expressing milk.
