At Ronald McDonald House Charities South Africa, we believe that when a child is in hospital, the whole family needs care. Our House gives families the comfort of being together and the peace of mind that comes from staying close to their child receiving treatment at the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital.
Each year, more than 840 families find a home-away-from-home with us. Our warm, supportive environment allows parents, guardians, and siblings to rest, prepare meals and find connection with others who understand what they are going through.
A Home Designed for Comfort and Care
The House features 27 family bedrooms, each thoughtfully equipped for comfort and privacy. Families also share welcoming common spaces including a kitchen, dining area, family lounge, games room, library and laundry facilities.
Every corner of our House has been designed to help families feel safe, supported, and at home — so they can focus on what matters most, being there for their child.
